Nature apparently hates me, whenever I put on my macro lens, the wind comes up. So this isn't as sharp nor does it have the DOF I'd like it to, all to keep a decent shutter speed for the thing blowing around. Might have to try in the morning before the wind comes up. I love the look on these, like grapes or something. I promise something more sharply focused next time.

Spring progresses, we're starting to see the flowers and tree blooms in the backyard, which makes it easier to get a daily blip, at least until I run out of new subjects. But that may be awhile.

Got this one this morning before our little bit of snow melted. Once it got a bit warmer, the snow was gone and all the crocuses coming up seemed much happier.

Macro Monster

This unearthly looking creature from space is...well, it's an apple tree blossom, specifically the stamens from the side. Fooled you didn't I? I bet you thought it was the Flying Spaghetti Monster...

So there I was...making dinner, minding my own business...when the sun came out from behind the all day long grey clouds just before it set behind the mountains. Conveniently enough, it fell on the plum tree, really lighting it up nicely. I had to run to get my camera, it lasted about 5 minutes tops.

Such a strange spring this year...nothing is blooming all at the same time. The irises are finally about ready to pop after this little spell of warm weather.

I didn't think I'd get so artsy here, this is the first iris of the year in the backyard. After I got done processing it, it screamed black and white. I like how it came out.
