Ireland 2009
Read MoreExterior shot of Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin, with the ruins of the original Church which was built in 1030 by the Vikings. For more history, see http://www.cccdub.ie/heritage/briefhistory.html and if you go to Dublin, I highly recommend visiting here. Just a few blocks south of the River Liffey/Merchants Quay. No, I do not work for Dublin tourism, but I do love walking through this historic city. :-D
Most of the images I took here were, well...bad. It was raining, the wind was howling, I shouldn't have been standing on the muddy edge of the cliff but I was. This one was one of the better shots, but very grey and gloomy. While adjusting white balance, this became an accident, and I decided to run with it. I rather like the blue cast rather than the very uninteresting grey that it was. Didn't need a grey card for this days shooting.
Just down the road from the seagull (I think he rents that space :-D ) is this wonderful little beach and this great view. Dingle peninsula, Ireland. Just out of the frame on the left are some spectacular and often photographed rocks, more so at high tide. The waves are beautiful. If you look at my other Ireland gallery, it is the banner photo on that page. I've been too lazy and too busy to change this gallery to show it here.
