The old standby for cloudy day shooting. Black and White. This worked out pretty well, it sort of came out looking like a very old photo of Colorado.

I like how the B&W brings out the dramatic clouds. Soon, this valley will be green, such a contrast to what it is now.

Sunrise, but no color. I wanted to see what the color version with the rich tones it had would look like in B&W. Equally rich.

Satisfying my black and white urges. Same as next image, just B&W. A touch of grain.

Honestly, I'm not sure which one I like better, color or b&w.

Depth of field study, Nikon 200mm f/2, black and white. Amazing lens.
Previously posted in color, I think I like this better, with more textures and less distraction from the highlights in the background.
This is always a bad thing on a military convoy...a traffic jam. It's basically like shooting fish in a barrel, with us being the fish. Fortunately it cleared and we got on our way.
This too is a revisit of an older image. Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

Playing with a new lens at the time I shot this, which is the building I worked in. A nice snowfall happening which the lens picked up nicely in the foreground with the steps.
A group of men and boys on a tea break. Hard to read the faces sometimes, they range from curiosity to distrust in this group.

So I had to choose between one of them for this project. I guess I actually like this one better. :-)
A hoar frost day here in Colorado. Hard to choose between these two, so I posted both of them.
